While traditional storytime where I cuddle up with the kids and read books, is still the preferred method of storytime at our house, we have discovered a new way to do storytime. I don’t think online story sites should replace traditional storytelling, but it IS a good novelty and encourages the kids and me to try out different types of books Here are a couple of websites where you can read children’s books

Check out http://www.bookbox.com for a variety of beautifully animated stories, many of which are in Hindi. Also, if your kids are learning Hindi and are old enough for Bollywood songs with amazing karaoke-style dynamic subtitling, both in Devanagari and transliteration, have a look at sister-site http://www.desilassi.com. Both are part of PlanetRead, whose main aim is to promote literacy in India through the use of same language subtitling.

They have beautiful stories online, and also free stories. Check them out. U can cuddle with your kid and watch the stories together.
