Indians….not so happy?

Filed under: India — hindumommy @ 4:40 pm

According to this report by BBC, India ranked low – as the 125th country,  in a poll of people worldwide to map out subjective wellbeing

He said he was surprised to see countries in Asia scoring so low, with ..India 125th, because these are countries that are thought as having a strong sense of collective identity which other researchers have associated with well-being.

“It is also notable that many of the largest countries in terms of population do quite badly,” he said.

What would it take to make India ” the happiest place on earth”?

  1. So much for our “spiritual legacy” which teaches us to be peaceful, balanced and happy under all circumstances. Vivekanand was right when he admired the material affluence of the west. Since a majority of waking hours are spent in occupations, this may not be the right solution for all, but to stay happy for a majority of time, it maybe worth a look – Make your passion your profession

  2. @Hiren…Happiness is a state of mind that’s fleeting and very hard to achieve. Maybe modernism has eroded some of the spiritual legacy
