Anti Princess Reading List

Filed under: Entertainment and Books,Kids,Parenting — hindumommy @ 7:41 pm

As a mom to two girls, I am totally surrounded by pink girly princess stuff. While I totally understand their fascination with princesses I also want them to know there is more to life than just growing up to marry Prince Charming

So the anti-princess reading list on Mommy Track’d is exactly what I was looking for. It lists some of my girls favorites like Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots? and Amber Brown is not a Crayon to others that I am looking forward to reading for the first time

Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast all have their place in children’s hearts we suppose.  But if you want your kids to grow up believing that girls should dream of more than just kissing the prince, check out these books.

Each of them features strong, smart, spunky girl protagonists that want to eat bugs, get first place in the science fair and grow up to be a teacher, a doctor, a firefighter or even a diva.
