Taller people do not just earn more than their shorter counterparts, they are also more smarter.
If this is true, my daughters who will probably grow up to be taller than me will be more smarter than I am !
According to a recent study, taller people are just more smarter and hence earn more than their height challenged peers.
“As early as age three — before schooling has had a chance to play a role — and throughout childhood, taller children perform significantly better on cognitive tests”
The research confirms previous studies that show that early nutrition is an important predictor of intelligence and height. Prenatal care and the time between birth and the age of 3 are critical periods for determining future cognitive ability and height.
If this increases awareness of prenatal care, it is all well and good but what about fraternal twins who get the same prenatal care?
My friends have twins – one who is much taller than the other (in fact nobody thinks of them as twins) and I think the kid who is not tall is academically better.
I have twin daughters – one who is 92%ile in height and the other 40%ile in height. My daughter who is “height challenged” is definitely better at academics as of now
Are these the two exceptions who prove the rule? I don’t think so…..
There are different kinds of smartness and I think “smartness” depends on so much more than height.
